Mr. A.S.Rao, Executive Vice Chairman

SIL is promoted by Mr. A.S.Rao a technocrat, first generation entrepreneur. Mr. Rao is a B.Tech. (Metallurgy) with over four and a half decades of experience in Iron and Steel industry. Mr. Rao had a long career of about 22 years with Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), the largest public sector undertaking for manufacture of Iron and Steel in India, owned by the Government of India. Mr. Rao pursued his industrial career with two small units for manufacture of alloys and re-rolling, which were eventually hived off to take up the present unit during the economic liberalization of India in 1991.  Mr. Rao is director on the board of the company since inception and presently is the Executive Vice Chairman of the Board.

Mr. A.Naresh Kumar, Managing Director

Mr. A. Naresh Kumar is another promoter director and is the eldest son of Mr. A.S.Rao. Mr. Naresh is by profession a Chemical Engineer with a Masters from United States. He had a four year stint with transnational companies in U.S. before joining SIL as a full time director. He is director on the board of SIL since inception and was elevated to the position of Managing Director in 1999 which he continues to hold today. Mr. Naresh manages the day to day affairs of SIL under overall superintendence, control and guidance of the Board of Directors of the company. Mr. Naresh is the brain behind the expansion and modernization of the Brownfield operations involving capacity addition of 90000 tpa of Pig Iron and for setting up a Greenfield project for manufacture of 300,000 tpa of Metallurgical Coke and 30 MW of Co-generation Power which capacities were further increased to 450,000 tpa and 50 MW respectively.

Mr. A.S.Rao together with his family members and Friends holds at present 37.95% of the equity capital of the company. He and his family members are the Promoters of the company.

Mr. Ramana kumar Davuluri, Executive Director - Operations

Mr. Ramana kumar Davuluri has been associated with the company for over two decades in the capacity of Sr. Vice President(RM & ADM) overseeing the operations of the Company at Bellary office.

Profile of Non-Executive Directors:

1. Mr. K.Thanu Pillai, B.Com., CAIIB, M.B.A., is a retired banking professional who has served State Bank Group for about 35 years and retired as Managing Director of State Bank of Hyderabad. He is an independent Director on the Board of Directors of the Company and is the Chairman of the company. Mr. Thanu Pillai is a Director on several other companies with rich experience in commercial banking and financial management.

2. Mr. Syed Anis Hussain had his entire career in Reserve Bank of India and retired as its ‘Executive Director’ in the year 1998. He also served as Banking Ombudsman for Andhra Pradesh for over three years. Mr. Hussain is an M.A.(Econ), C.A.I.I.B., with specializations in Banking-specialized in currency management, Urban Co-operative banking and administration.

Earlier he was on the Boards of

1. Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Private Limited,
2. Indian Immunologicals Limited and
3. RBI nominee Director on the Boards of three Nationalised banks Viz; Andhra Bank, United Bank of India and Indian Bank.

At present he is a director on the boards of a few other companies.

3. Mr. S.N Rao, Director is a Mechanical Engineer by profession. He has gained wide experience from working with several leading companies in the Iron &Steel and Chemical industries. He has been with the company for about 13 years as Executive Director (Works) and recently retired from whole time director and is now functioning as an independent and professional director. He has contributed significantly to improve the operational efficiency of the company by constantly endeavoring to improve capacity utilisation and reduction in inputs and input costs.

4. Mrs. Latha Pamulais a Qualified Company Secretary and Associate Member of Institute of Company secretaries of India (ICSI) ,She is Graduate in Law and Post Graduate in Physical Organic Chemistry from Osmania University.she has close to a decade of experience in Corporate Secretarial , listing compliances and legal drafting

5. Mr. Yeda Kiran Kumar He is a Graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering and holds a M.Tech, in Integrated Electronics and Circuits. After brief stint with DRDO as Defence Scientist-B, he has his entire career with Department of Telecommunication, Government of India, and retired as Dy. Director General (DDG) in 2017. He is member of Rotary Club and represented the club in foreign country
